It’s the nature of the beast….sometimes, without warning...websites and applications break. You can blame it on the internet, technology, or the full moon. But at the end of the day, when you are in the middle of a ColdFusion emergency, you need someone to fix it.

You've probably heard of SSL. It stands for "Secure Sockets Layer." By definition, SSL is "a secure protocol developed for sending information securely over the Internet." Think of it this way...without SSL in place on a website, it's like having a private conversation with someone in the middle of Progressive Field. During an Indians game. Meaning anyone could hear it. But with SSL, that conversation takes place in a locked room with just you and the person you are talking to...much more private.

If you’ve ever touched a computer at all, chances are you know what HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is. It’s how a website is built, right? But unless you are in the website development field or are responsible for a website built in it, you likely have not heard of CFML, or ColdFusion Markup Language. ColdFusion is an application development tool used for writing web pages that interact with databases, and contrary to what the uninformed may think, it is NOT a dead language.

In this day and age, it’s all about the upgrade. Whether it’s your cell phone or a hotel room or a seat on an airplane, an upgrade is generally a good thing that is welcomed. But there is at least one type of upgrade that some may view as daunting and unwelcome: The ColdFusion (CF) Upgrade.

In general, a website is an investment. No matter what your budget is, you want to make sure you get as much from your website as possible.

If your website has been around for any length of time, you’ve probably gone through a redesign or at least a round of significant updates. Hopefully, each time has been a great success and you’ve never looked back. But for the rest of us there’s likely been at least one time when we thought...OMG, what have we done?
